Taxi number plates for sale in Latvia

About this plate type

Taxi plates are issued to vehicles used for commercial passenger transport. They are distinguishable on sight — a yellow face makes them recognisable from a distance.

This plate type is tied to the vehicle's role rather than only to its size, so it is worth checking how a particular number could be used in your situation before buying. The transfer itself happens at CSDD like any other.

How does a plate transfer work?

Sizes and types

• Type A 520×110 mm
• Type E 300×110 mm

Size does not constrain the number itself: a deal transfers the registration, and the buyer orders plates to suit their own vehicle.

Frequently asked questions

Can a taxi plate be used on an ordinary car?

This type is bound to what the vehicle is used for, so CSDD rules decide. Check the current position on csdd.lv before agreeing a price.

Why are taxi plates yellow?

The yellow face makes a commercial passenger vehicle recognisable at a distance. It is a property of the plate type, not an owner's choice.

How does the deal work?

The same as any plate: the parties agree a price and handle the re-registration at CSDD. vnz.lv is not a party to it.
